Live broadcast on August 8th the Premier League officially announced that the captains of the Premier League had confirmed that the players would continue to kneel down before specific matches in the new season, in order to show their continuous resistance to racism and all forms of discrimination.
The players will bend their knees in the first round of the Premier League opener and the last few rounds of the game, as well as in the “non-racial discrimination space” schedule in October and April, and the schedule of Boxing Day.
The Premier League supports players’ decisions and will continue to work with the club this season to promote anti-discrimination information as part of the Premier League’s “non-racial discrimination space” action plan.
The captains of the Premier League said: “We all agree that there is no place for any form of discrimination in football or the wider society. We are committed to using our platform to promote racial diversity, and show our support for anti-racism.
Therefore, in the coming season, we will continue to unite and kneel down at important moments. Diversity is a part of the success of the competition. We strongly believe that everyone should respect others, regardless of race or background.”
