Live broadcast on August 9th, Zanetti, a famous Inter Milan and currently vice chairman of the club, recently accepted an exclusive interview with Italian media Gazzetta dello Sport. In the interview, he explained his sense of belonging to the club, and the relationship with the club.

— Which stage of life is it now?

“At this stage, I still work for the team as always. If anyone wants to know what Zanetti is doing now, then they will know that I am working behind the scenes. I try to be a useful person and provide resources and help at all levels: clubs, coaching teams, competitive issues. Everyone knows that I will be there when I need it. Even though I participated in social projects in UEFA and FIFA, I have been considering the development of the club. I try to improve myself. In order to continue a career, you need to be prepared and learn. In a sense, this is also a kind of training and very hard work.”

— Where does your pleasure of fatigue come from?

“Now I’m talking more than keeping healthy. I have signed up for the course “management and entrepreneurship” of boconey university. I will finish this course in March or April and observe football 360 degrees in all directions. Fatigue and sacrifice are not a beautiful habit, but a need to feel good.”

— Have you ever thought that if Inter were not as “crazy” as you, you would also be happier?

“In that case, it would not be Inter. This club is so romantic and unique. I never think this characteristic is negative. On the contrary, it makes us different and can do anything. There is no end to our madness. Anyone who has been here will recall inter happily and even want to come back…… Management can change, but we cannot lose our identity, which is why I struggle.”

— What exactly are these traits built from?

“From the first day, I felt a feeling of family. A resilient family stood up again in difficulties.”

— What about your family? Are they more Argentine or Italian?

“After the match between Italy and Sweden in 2017, my children were dressed in blue. They cried for Italy’s failure to qualify for the World Cup. However, in Qatar last year, they were all blue and white. They cried like French people, and then we cried happily together. This double identity is beautiful.”

-But in Qatar, do you have such an idea: it’s a pity that I didn’t achieve such success when I played football?

“No, no jealousy, no regret. I played 145 games for the national team and set a record. I gave everything. But we are one with the current national team, and I feel this by embracing Macy.”

— Pupi, what do you think will happen when you get old?

“I think I will still be very active and ready to do everything for Inter. Because for me, Inter will always be there. Even if I didn’t have any role or was kicked out of the club, I couldn’t fade the color of blue and black.”
